This Privacy Policy describes how NESTY LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with teenymute (the "App") and the teenymute website at teenymute.com (the "Website").
1. Information We Collect
Information the App stores locally on your device:
- Preferences for the selected input, shortcut, toggle or push-to-talk mode, startup behavior, feedback, and login item
- Private trial metadata used for the 3-day trial
- License and activation credentials stored in macOS Keychain, plus bounded local recovery state for an activation that still needs cleanup
The App does not contain analytics, telemetry, or account sync. It never records or uploads audio; it reads and changes supported state on the selected input device.
App network connections:
- Polar: the App sends the license key, organization identifier, activation identifier when available, and a generic app/platform label for license activation, validation, and deactivation
- Sparkle: the App contacts teenymute.com to check for and download updates
Website analytics (Google Analytics):
- Page views and session duration
- Browser and device type
- Approximate geographic location
Payment data:
Payments are collected and processed by Polar. NESTY LLC never sees or stores your payment card details. Please refer to Polar's privacy policy for information about how they handle payment data.
2. How We Use Information
- Local App data provides preferences, device selection, trial state, and secure license/activation recovery
- Polar processes license activation, validation, and deactivation requests
- Sparkle checks teenymute.com for software updates and downloads them when requested
- Google Analytics data helps us understand website traffic and improve the product
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Information may be shared with the following third parties solely for the purposes described above:
- Google Analytics: website usage data is shared with Google under their data processing terms
- Polar: payment processing and the App's license activation, validation, and deactivation requests. See polar.sh/privacy
Sparkle update checks and downloads are served from teenymute.com. The App does not send audio or microphone-state history to Polar or the update feed.
4. Cookies
The Website uses Google Analytics to collect website usage data. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies. The App itself does not use cookies.
5. Your Rights
California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information.
EU/UK residents (GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. You may also object to or restrict processing.

6. Data Retention
- Google Analytics data is retained according to Google's configured retention settings and terms
- Preferences and private trial metadata remain locally until changed or removed
- License, activation, and bounded activation-recovery records remain in macOS Keychain until deactivation, authoritative invalidation, or manual removal
7. Children's Privacy
teenymute is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at teenymute.com/privacy. Your continued use of the App or Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
